The purpose of the upgraded journal of Separation Science is to fill the gaps in many chromatographic journals, focusing on various advanced methods for sample pretreatment, as well as a series of novel applications using pressure driven and electrically driven chromatographic separation, electrophoresis methods, and gas chromatography. These processes include method development, validation, and application to real samples. The journal provides a forum for analytical scientists from both academia and industry to share the latest knowledge on sample preparation and application methods.

The journal covers topics including capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, high performance liquid chromatography, tandem mass spectrometry, vanillin, gas chromatography, capillary electrochromatography, electrospray, human plasma, quantitative determination, amino acids, solid phase microextraction, two-dimensional gas, ethyl vanillin, traditional Chinese medicine, magnetic nanoparticles, stationary phase, cilnidipine, etc. SSC Plus also pays special attention to Application Notes, a format that is often overlooked in other journals in this field.
