Medical Gas Research (MGR) is an international open access journal dedicated to the study of medical gases, human health, and related diseases. The magazine is edited by Professor John H. Zhang and published by Weike Medknow. Since its establishment in 2011, MGR journal has been included in multiple international important databases, including MEDLINE/Index Medicus database, Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)/Web of Science database, PubMed/PubMed Central full-text database, SCOPUS database, etc. The goal of MGR journal is to become an important academic journal with academic influence in the field of medical gas research, and to provide an international academic exchange platform for researchers.

The distinctive feature of this journal is its focus on the research of medical gases, including reactive oxygen species, low oxygen, oxygen, nitric oxide, singlet oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen oxide, argon, helium, etc. They play an important role in life sciences, research on the microenvironment inside and outside human cells, and clinical medicine. The journal encourages the publication of innovative basic research articles, review articles, opinion and commentary articles, in-depth evidence-based medicine articles, and big data analysis articles describing the innovative value of medical gases in clinical application and transformation.
